Choose the new FCX18 II Ford F-100 if the priority is the newest FMS 1:18 chassis architecture, a lower centre of gravity, easier body access, greater suspension-adjustment potential and a platform already receiving dedicated second-generation BATRAZZI upgrades.

Choose the FCX18S Chevrolet K10 V2 if the priority is stock portal-axle ground clearance, larger factory tyres, a very mature parts ecosystem and the enormous range of K10-specific body conversions, FairRC Mods and scale accessories already available.

Choose the F-100 as a new build platform if experimenting with the FCX18 II chassis itself is part of the attraction.

Body access is usually a boring part of RC ownership until it becomes inconvenient.

Beadlock wheels make tyre experimentation considerably more practical because the tyre is mechanically retained rather than permanently glued.

The existence of a long upgrade catalogue does not mean the crawler should be dismantled on the day it arrives.

A more useful build sequence is:

Stage 1 — Drive It Stock

Learn where the truck actually struggles.

Can Old FCX18 K10 Upgrades Be Used on the New FCX18 II F-100?

F-100 vs K10 for Scale Realism

Both trucks are unusually strong scale subjects.

The K10 has the advantage of an established square-body identity and a modification culture that already includes flatbeds, camper shells, stepsides and custom wheel combinations.

The F-100 has the freshness of a new platform and a very clean classic-pickup form backed by Ford licensing, detailed hard-body construction, interior modelling and integrated lighting.

The magnetic body system may also make it easier to own several visual identities for the same chassis without turning every body swap into a wiring job.

The difference is story.

The specification sheet creates a fascinating trade-off.

The K10 starts higher.

Its portals, larger tyres and 40mm ground clearance provide obvious benefits where the obstacle is physically trying to catch the differential or chassis.

The F-100 starts lower.

Its 31mm ground clearance sounds worse until the rest of the architecture is considered: lower drivetrain placement, solid axles, smaller tyres and a chassis deliberately designed around reducing the centre of gravity.

That can potentially help where the obstacle is trying to roll the vehicle rather than simply catch underneath it.

The F-100 also has the much stronger stated departure angle: 53° compared with 33° on the stock K10 specification.

The K10 counters with a 70° approach angle compared with 59° for the Ford.
